America graffiti a stain on the Great Wall

COLLEAGUE Robyn Wuth has just returned from three weeks in China.

She made the obligatory pilgrimage to The Great Wall, where she was horrified to discover that some idiot had sprayed a message on it.

"From the spelling it seems that the culprit may have been American," said the former police reporter.

However, when the guides discovered that our Rob was Australian, their demeanour changed considerably.

"At the Great Wall the guides go to great lengths (no pun intended) to rebuff the myth that the Emperor Nasi Goreng built the wall to keep out the rabbits," she said. "They don't find the story very funny at all, although I suspect they may not have seen the ad which started it all."
